History of Our Firm Three Generations
Armand Brunswick, MAI (1881-1960) was the President of the
Brunswick Appraisal Corporation, the largest commercial brokerage and management firm in the
Borough
of Queens during the early 1900s. He was a former member of the Advisory Board of American
Trust
Co., and Officer of M. Morgenthau Jr. Co. of New York City. One of the earliest members of
the
Appraisal Institute, his clients included; New York Life Insurance
Company, Arthur Levitt and the City of New York. He was known for his expertise in eminent
domain on
projects that included; LaGuardia Airport, the Triborough Bridge Approach and Plaza and
Flushing Meadow
Park
(World's Fair Site).
Sanford Brunswick (1922-2013) was a developer of residential subdivisions in Garden City,
Dix
Hills
and Commack before assuming the Presidency of Brunswick Appraisal Corp. He continued and
developed
his reputation in the specialization of eminent domain valuation.
Elinor Brunswick, MAI, joined the family business in 1985. She has been an active member in
the
Appraisal Institute since the early 1990s while gaining further experience working in New
York
City
for five years as Senior Vice President for Appraisers and Planners Inc. In 1993, she became
licensed with the State of New York as a Certified General Appraiser. Since 2005, she is
President
of Brunswick Appraisal Corp., and continues in the family tradition providing expert
testimony,
eminent domain expertise and preparing appraisals for all types of property throughout the
Long
Island and major metropolitan region. She represents some of the most well- known real
estate
owners
and developers on Long Island, is valuation appraiser and consultant for major educational
institutions including New York Institute of Technology and Long Island University and
specializes
in the valuation of conservation easements on behalf of the North Shore Land Alliance and
Peconic
Land Trust.
